About the Creator

This site is brought to you by Diana Victoria Braghis, a student at Pomona College originally from the Republic of Moldova. Through her summer research project, Diana sought to make the topic of Bessarabian deportations available to an English-speaking audience, since most of the available resources online are in Romanian.

She would also like to extend her deepest gratitude to the contributors to this site, mainly Pey-Yi Chu and Octavian Èšâcu. As the coordinator of the project, Pomona College history professor Chu helped guide the process of creation and ensure historical accuracy. Èšâcu, a historian from Moldova, helped Diana throughout her research efforts, offering resources and insights for this website. Diana is grateful to both of these contributors.
